Vocational Service

VOCATIONAL SERVICE

Vocational Service is one of the four key avenues of service within the Rotary Club, alongside community service, international service, and club service. Vocational Service focuses on promoting and supporting high ethical standards and the dignity of all useful occupations as a way to serve society. The main goal of Rotary Vocational Service is to foster and encourage:
    • Ethics and Professionalism: the Rotary Club of Tiaong Circle encourages its members, known as Rotarians, to adhere to high ethical standards in their business and professional activities. Rotarians are expected to conduct themselves with integrity and fairness, thereby setting an example for others.
    • Vocational Skills Development: we support vocational training and education initiatives to help individuals acquire skills and knowledge necessary for meaningful employment and career advancement.
    • Mentoring and Guidance: Rotarians often serve as mentors, providing guidance and support to young professionals and aspiring individuals entering the workforce. Through mentorship, Rotarians can share their experiences and expertise, helping others grow in their respective fields.
    • Networking and Business Connections: Rotary meetings and events provide opportunities for Rotarians to network with fellow professionals, build business relationships, and promote their vocations or businesses ethically.
    • Recognizing Vocational Excellence: the club recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and contributions in their professions. These recognitions may include awards or scholarships to support further vocational growth.
    • Vocational Ethics Projects: Rotary Vocational Service encourages initiatives that promote fair and ethical practices in the workplace and advocate against corruption, discrimination, and unethical behavior.
Through Vocational Service, the Rotary Club of Tiaong Circle aims to leverage the professional expertise and leadership of their members to address community needs and promote a culture of service in the workplace. It reinforces the idea that one’s vocation can be a powerful tool for making a positive impact on society. It is important to note that Rotary International, the global organization that oversees all Rotary clubs worldwide, places a strong emphasis on Vocational Service and encourages clubs to incorporate vocational projects and activities into their overall service efforts. By embracing Vocational Service, Rotary strives to foster goodwill and understanding among professionals and to contribute to the betterment of communities at large.
